The park is home to swimming and wading pools, jogging trails, fitness stations, clubhouse, a lake with fishing piers, and a colorful amphitheater. A distinct airstream spaceship sculpture near the playground makes the park easily recognizable. A number of events are held here, including the weekly Sunday farmers market

The Southside Community Garden is located just a block away. It was the first community garden owned and managed by the City of Sacramento and is jointly managed by the city and the people who garden there. There’s also a kids’ garden area.
